Behaviour consultations are available for a variety of domestic pet species including dogs, cats and rabbits.

Problem Behaviours
Advice on all types of behaviour problems such as fears and phobias; inappropriate toileting; aggression; possessive/ guarding behaviours; repetitive behaviours (e.g. tail or shadow chasing); chewing/destructive behaviours; and more.
Referrals
Behaviour consultations are only seen on veterinary referral to ensure any problem behaviours are not related to a medical condition, such as inappropriate urination resuting from bladder problems; increased aggression due to pain, etc.
Methods
All behavioural modification techniques use only methods of positive reinforcement and association and never harsh training methods or punishments.
Consultations
Consulatations are performed at your house so that the most accuate display of your pets' behaviour can be observed with minimal influence from the distration or anxiety of a new environment. During the visit, a thorough history will be taken. This will be followed up by a detailed written report which will include an explanation of the cause/ meaning of your pets behaviour and a detailed plan for modification and how it implemented. This will be sent to you within 10-14 days.
Location and Price
The intial visit and consultation lasts approximately 3-5 hours depending on the problem. We see cases located within a 10 mile radius of Stroud. The price of the consultation is £250, payable at the time and includes the intial assessment, full written report and a second visit one month later to check on progress and make adjustments to the modification plan where necessary. There is no quick fix to a behaviour problem when corrected properly so the price also covers full telephone and email support for 6 months.
